How to measure a bag correctly
Bag sizes are always given as width × height × depth. Measuring the same way as the manufacturer avoids surprises.
Quick answer
Measure width across the base from seam to seam, height from the base to the top edge (excluding handles), depth across the gusset, and handle drop from the top of the handle to the bag opening — all with the bag empty and laid flat.

Width
Lay the bag flat and measure across the bottom, seam to seam.
